Wednesday Nov 18, 2020
The planets have aligned and all four of us are here for part 1 of what Mat is now calling Next-Gen November.
This week we discuss our first few days with the new Xbox consoles, the games we’ve been playing (or lack thereof) and our thoughts on what this means for the generation ahead. And next week we’ll do the same for the PlayStation 5.
There’s also a ton of news, including vaping Xbox consoles, an incoming Halo Infinite update, Capcom getting hacked and Twitch being rubbish yet again.
All that plus Sean threatening people, more washing up debates, Christmas decoration compromises, and more.
Games discussed: Watch Dogs Legion, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, Forza Horizon 4, No Man’s Sky, Destiny 2: Beyond Light, Mass Effect Andromeda.

James is back! But David’s away as he’s taking a much deserved break.
Fear not, because there’s plenty to cover including the Xbox and PS5 reviews, tons of feedback, Mass Effect trilogy remasters, Sega selling off its arcade business, ridiculous outfits and turning classic Christmas tales into video games.
It’s worth noting that we recorded this episode on Monday, a day before the Xbox launch, so no new console impressions this week. Come back next week for those hot takes.
Games discussed: FIFA 21, Star Trek Bridge Crew, Super Mario Bros. 2, South of the Circle, Knack 2.

James is still away, but things are a lot more sensible this week as we discuss Nintendo’s final Partner Showcase of the year, Cyberpunk and Destruction All-Stars getting delayed, directors leaving games and some sad news about those unofficial PS5 flaps.
Elsewhere, the boys discuss Mat’s recent P.T. stream, what’s happening with our GOTY show, Christmas content ideas, keeping fit in VR, and daily routine mini-games.
Games discussed: P.T., Super Mario Bros., Pacer, Spider-Man, Super Mario Galaxy, FitXR, Hyrule Warriors 2 demo, Pacer, CUE.

225: Old Loves, Old Loss
Wednesday Oct 28, 2020
Wednesday Oct 28, 2020
James is away on business, leaving David, Sean and Mat to run rampant.
Naturally it gets silly almost immediately, but we still find time to discuss Halo: The Master Chief Collection getting some nice Xbox Series X upgrades, custom PS5 flaps going on sale, and rumours about Xbox streaming sticks and 1 vs 100 possibly returning.
There’s a little bit of what we’ve been playing, then we fall into a deep conversation about social media habits, hate-fuelled rages, and atrophied bodies, like you do.
Games discussed: Hades, Spider-Man, Genshin Impact, Super Mario Bros., Ghost of Tsushima: Legends.

We also discuss Phil Spencer’s latest comments, the full Xbox Series X | S launch line-up, and Oculus Quest 2 issues.
There’s also listeners pretending to be other listeners, gaming advent calendars, a Honda Jazz in space, and more!

There’s an awful lot of feedback about The Bet, and Mat’s not happy.
We also go over the latest Xbox Series X previews, Amazon’s new game streaming service, Mat going back to Death Stranding, Sean becoming an Avenger, and thanks to Jon Denton’s recommendation, David, James and Sean all played (and loved) Hades.
All that plus how to pass on knowledge to your children, the ol’ switcheroo in story-telling, consoles on fire and so much more.
Games discussed: Hades, Super Mario 3D All-Stars, Among Us, Death Stranding, Spelunky 2, Star Trek Bridge Crew, Destiny 2, Marvel’s The Avengers.

What a massive, massive week of news. So much has happened.
Sony finally announced the price, the launch date and some launch games for the PS5, yet somehow we got more information from Geoff Keighley.
Microsoft bought Bethesda and Zenimax for $7.5bn! Doom! Elder Scrolls! Fallout! The lot! It’s crazy!
And Nintendo had another partner showcase mini direct thing.
Elsewhere, we go through the results of our predictions for the Sony show, but that’s all small-fry compared to the main event; MAT AND JAMES’ BET.
Strap in.
Games discussed: Super Mario 3D All-Stars, Paradise Killer, Frostpunk.
